P0108 - Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) Sensor Circuit High

The Technical Definition: The engine computer, or Powertrain Control Module (PCM), uses the MAP sensor to measure the pressure inside the intake manifold. This code is set when the PCM receives a voltage signal from the MAP sensor that is higher than the expected maximum, which is typically over 4.5 volts.

Common Symptoms: Drivers may experience rough idling, hesitation, stalling, or a general lack of engine responsiveness. You might also notice decreased fuel mileage and black smoke.

Typical Fix: Code P0108 almost always points to a failed Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor. Replacing the sensor is a very easy and inexpensive DIY job that can be done in under 30 minutes with basic tools. If a new sensor doesn't solve the problem, you should investigate the wiring more closely.
