P0571 - Brake Switch "A" Circuit Malfunction

The Technical Definition: The PCM is receiving an erratic, implausible, or missing signal from the brake light switch.

Common Symptoms: The cruise control will completely stop working, the check engine light will turn on, and the brake lights may either stay stuck on constantly or fail to light up at all.

Typical Fix: Replacing the brake light switch, which is located directly above the brake pedal assembly, is a very quick and inexpensive fix.
