P06DD - Engine Oil Pressure Control Circuit Stuck Off
The Technical Definition: The engine control module detects that the dual-stage oil pump is stuck in the low-pressure mode and is not providing enough oil pressure for higher RPMs.
Common Symptoms: The check engine light will turn on, and the engine will strictly limit you to about 3,000 RPM (limp mode) to prevent internal engine damage.
Typical Fix: This code is the dreaded companion to the P0520 code. If replacing the oil pressure sensor does not fix it, the oil pump itself (located in the oil pan) has failed and must be replaced.
